ABOUT ANISHA, FOUNDER OF M&K

I've led some of Australia's most successful content teams. Now I help organisations build their own.

Great content doesn't happen by accident. It takes strategy, craft, and execution working together, and someone with the experience to know how all of it fits. I've spent twenty years building the conditions that make it possible.

I'm Anisha Khopkar, founder of M&K Consultancy. I started my career in broadcast television news, moved into digital at a moment when no one really knew what digital meant yet, and spent years inside some of Australia's most audience-focused media organisations working out what makes content genuinely connect, and what gets in the way.

What I learned is this: audiences don't care whether something is a campaign, a branded post or a news story. They care about whether it connects and they respond to original thinking, told with craft and real editorial judgment. They respond to content that treats them as curious people worth surprising. The organisations that understand this are the ones that get results and create something that has real impact.

Most organisations making content every day aren't short on effort. They're producing a lot, often feeling uncertain about whether it's working, and missing the senior editorial voice that can look across everything honestly and say: here's what's good, here's what isn't, and here's exactly what to do next.

That clarity only comes with experience. It comes from having made content for some of the largest audiences in Australia and globally (BuzzFeed News, Four Corners, triple j, Australian Story), having watched in real time what connects and what doesn't, and having learned what actually moves people and what doesn’t. I've worked across every format, video, audio, social, web and written, and across every platform, from the ones audiences are using now to the ones they were moving toward before most organisations had noticed.

Having someone in your team who has built and led content at that scale, and who can bring that level of editorial thinking directly into your organisation, is rare. Most teams never get access to it and that's what M&K changes.

What that means for your team

This is for everyone involved in making content, from the leadership deciding where to invest, to the team doing the work every day.

If you're making the strategic decisions: I bring the editorial sharpness, strategic clarity and honest perspective that comes from two decades inside some of Australia's most audience-focused media organisations. I work embedded, alongside your leadership and your team, because shifting how an organisation thinks about content isn't something you can do from the outside. It has to move through the whole organisation.

If you're the one making the content: I'm not coming in to judge what you've built. I'm coming in because I know how good it can get, and I want to help you get there. The teams I've worked with have gone from feeling like they're producing into a void to feeling like they're making something that genuinely matters. That shift happens when there's someone in the room who can see the potential in an idea before it's fully formed, who knows how to give feedback that makes the work better rather than smaller, and who understands that creativity and content can feel personal, which means the way you develop it together really counts.

Content is one of the most creative and rewarding parts of any organisation's work. It just takes the right conditions, the right thinking, and sometimes someone who's been doing this long enough to help you see what's possible.

There are two ways to work with M&K, and a third if you want to start smaller.
